Comment:
Modification within NP is not very common in general in Baure (cf. Danielsen 2007:168). The preference for a particular word order of adjective and head noun depends on the kind of adjective: adjectives of 'class III: derived forms' which constitute the largest part of the adjective class are mainly post-nominal (13 cases out of 14); adjectives of 'absolute class II' (which do not get classifier incorporated, and whose forms remain unchanged) are predominantly adnominal (32 cases out of 50); adjectives of 'class I: right-bound roots' (denoting dimension, and used with classifiers) are postnominal (3 cases out of 3) (cf. Danielsen 2007:168).
